Aubrey is our tenderhearted grandson. He cares about his family, his classmates, his teachers and his pets. He is a beautiful little boy with a beautiful smile. One day he wrote a note to Sarah to tell her that he was praying for her and enclosed a crumpled $5.00 bill inside the letter. Sarah still has the letter with the $5.00 bill and cherishes it. His nature is tender and he is shy about letting people know how he feels. Well, Hawk, Aubrey's horse died last week. Aubrey was heartbroken. Hawk was an old horse and he died of old age so Becky and Thane took a special amount of time explaining that it was Hawk's time to go. Becky told me that the other night when she was putting the boys to bed, she noticed a piece of paper tacked to the wall over Aubrey's dresser. It was a eulogy for Hawk. At the end he wrote, "he was my favorite horse and my favorite friend, God rest his soul." Becky wanted to cry. She found a picture of Hawk for him and now he has both of them hanging up in his room. He's so tenderhearted.
