45 Years Ago??? How Old Is She????

I have a friend named Linda. (she's the one in the black skirt and white blouse) She's been my friend for 45 years. We met at church, she married a very nice guy from our youth group and they spent their first years of marriage traveling around while her guy finished his tour in the Army. No matter what stage of life we were in, we knew each other well. One stage was making cookies together and dough ornaments. Another stage was softball games and sitting on the grass while the guys played. Linda was there when my dear Jeffrey Scott went to heaven...she was there when our children were born, walked, played and grew up together. Linda did plays with us when she was young and when she was old. She was there when my dear Sarah went through cancer, twice and is still with me to pray Sarah through this present challenge of brain cancer. Not a lot of talking is needed between my friend Linda and me. We understand each other. I was terrified when my friend Linda was ill and I prayed fervently for her recovery...she was strong and courageous and fought the hard fight to get strong after her surgery. She wanted to be there for her grandchildren.

There is never a time that I don't look forward to an email from Linda to make me smile. I smile because I know that when I open that email it's meant to encourage me, to love me and to embrace me in some way. She's old...not as old as I am...I hope we get older together to keep writing to each other, laughing about our experiences and knowing that we love each other in a very special way...We're two of the BP girls now...our friendship is even sweeter. Thank you Linda for all these years of friendship. Thank you, dear, old friend.
