Glenn Jr. is flying home today. He landed in Kuwait yesterday (Tuesday 3/4) and left for Europe and the the USA! Amanda is waiting with great anticipation and we, his parents, are so thankful that he's on his way back to his family.
Glenn did many things in Iraq that were classified and we won't know what they were, however, we do know that he was a leader and he led with strength and courage and kept his sense of humor. He took cold showers due to the lack of any water nevermind hot water, and slept in a complete set of cammies, two pair of socks, gloves and hat. When he first arrived the temperatures were above 110 every day.
Right before leaving on Monday, his flight was canceled because of a massive sand storm that blew right over their staging area. They took cover in a tent and he called after 15 hours of the storm to tell me that he had sand in his eyes, teeth, everywhere! He was able to get out of Iraq on Tuesday right before the next sand storm was coming in.
If you think of him today please pray for his travel! Boy are we excited that he's coming home!
